If you are interesting in obtaining a license to acquire and possess non-restricted firearms in Canada, then you will need to take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC). The course is 8 hours of classroom instruction and firearms handling followed by written and practical examinations. A grade of 80% on each exam is required to pass the course.
In order to take the CFSC, you must bring a government piece of photo identification on the day of the course. Minors between the ages of 12 and 17 can take the course, but in order to obtain a minor’s PAL, they’ll need to fill out and submit a Minors Application and parental/guardian consent forms.
If you are considering taking the CFSC and wish to review the material beforehand, you can find the coursebook here. This class would typically cost $150 to attend, but with the support of the SFGA membership educational subsidy program, the course is available to SFGA members at a significantly reduced rate.
This private course is only available to current Sarcee Fish and Game Members.
Cost - $50 (adults) / Free for minors (ages 12-17)
